My Vintage Sewing Machines

Vintage Sewing Machines

These are some of the vintage sewing machines I've been collecting.  The aim is to clean them up and get them back to good working order.

Serial No: EB888481
Portable Singer 99K made in 1938 found in a small antique shop.  Has a knee lever to stop and start the machine.
Condition: replaced old wiring, replaced white cord with a black one, case handle broken.

Serial No:Y1657296
Singer treadle Class 31K made in 1921 in Scotland purchased privately.
Condition: Veneer tops need replacing, needs new belt and bobbin case cover.

Singer 319K made in the 1950s.
Condition:  Missing foot pedal.

Serial No: Y6264299
Singer treadle 15K made in 1922.
Condition: Excellent condition, may have been previously restored, cabinet with few scratches on lid.  Needs new belt

Janome 610 made in the 1970s.
Condition: after a clean and oil, this machine sews beautifully.

Serial No: EB985671
Singer 201K made in 1939.
Condition: showing wear but sews a reliable stitch.  Replaced wiring and removed capacitor which had been added on by previous owner (presumably to slow the machine down).  A few tension issues and may need a replacement tension dial.

Renmark sewing machine - I have no information on this machine unfortunately.
Condition: a little wear but sews beautifully and so very quiet.

Vintage Toy Sewing Machines

1950s EMG Comet, handcrank, made in England.
Condition:  excellent condition with original box and instructions.

1970s battery operated Little Golden Panoramic Sewing Machine by Singer, made in France.  Battery operated or hand crank.
Condition: Excellent condition with original box and instruction booklet, in working order.

Zig Zag Sew-ette sewing machine, made in Japan.  One of the few toy sewing machines to have the zig-zag stitch.
